Tips from my photography class teacher about improving in portrait photography.
1. It is better to get as close as possible to the person or people you're photographing. Half the distance and half it again if you can.
2. Try to fill the frame of the photo with the person. The photo is bad if the person being photographed is a tiny speck.
3. Also, usually your subject should be anywhere except in the center point of the photo. Pictures are usually more interesting if they have an asymmetrical balance.
